Fender Bass VI

1961

Quite frankly, I didn’t think I’d get such a shock when I picked up this instrument. Everything is so much easier and sounds so much better; it’s mind-blowing. This is the first version with the original pickups. The instrument is original, but it was refinished in Olympic White a long time ago. You can clearly see that the paint has started to turn yellow. The tuners are reproductions. The neck is amazing. It’s incredibly easy. The sound is enormous. The tone pot is very effective and varies beautifully from a very round and matte sound to a very high and slapping sound. These pickups are fantastic, and there are three of them. Whether you’re a guitarist or bassist, once you try it, you’ll love it.
