This instrument has spent most of its life in the same family. It was passed down to me by the nephew of the late manager of a Parisian cabaret. This tenor guitar is in excellent condition, without cracks or repairs, with its original varnish. It bears the original SB tuners that work perfectly. It is an extremely rare and unique piece in the history of French lutherie. Designed in 1932, it bears the number 224 and adopts the same architecture as the famous six-string models, with a folded arched top, a rosewood body, and a large D soundhole, the signature of Maccaferri’s first creations. It has the particularity of not having moustaches at the bridge, which is also quite rare and totally original. Intended to offer tenor guitarists unprecedented projection and richness of sound, it uses the internal resonator system imagined by Maccaferri, designed to reinforce the acoustic power.
