Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120
1963
Here is a beautiful example of the iconic 1963 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins, in its traditional orange finish.
This guitar passed through our shop a few years ago, and it’s a pleasure to have it back. It hasn’t changed a bit.
Of course, this is one of the most iconic models of Gretsch’s 1960s production. This 6120 features a fully hollow body, two Filter’Tron pickups, and a Bigsby vibrato. This combination gives it that unmistakable Gretsch sound, with plenty of clarity, a crisp attack, and well-defined lows. The Filter’Trons offer excellent note definition, even when pushing an amp, making it easy to go from clean tones to more aggressive, overdriven sounds.
The guitar is in very good overall condition, showing the playing wear and natural patina you would expect from an instrument of this age. Both original Filter’Tron pickups are fully functional and deliver the distinctive sound of early 1960s Gretsch guitars.
The guitar has been professionally set up and offers excellent playability all the way up the neck.
It comes with its original hardshell case.
