Fender 1960 Stratocaster Custom Shop

1998

A beautiful Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster recreating the features of an early ’60s Strat, in an elegant black finish.

Built in February 1998, when John Page was heading the Fender Custom Shop, this guitar features a beautifully figured maple neck with extensive birdseye figuring along its entire length. The rosewood fingerboard has dot inlays, and the neck is particularly comfortable and a pleasure to play.

The guitar is currently fitted with FlameTone pickups, and the original Texas Special set is also included. These can easily be reinstalled if desired, although the guitar sounds particularly good with its current pickups.

The original Fender Custom Shop certificate, signed by John Page, is included, along with all the documentation and a Fender strap.

Supplied in its original brown hardshell case.

The black finish shows some light wear and marks consistent with nearly 30 years of use, but the guitar remains in very clean overall condition.

Weight: 3.578 kg.
