Tama TK-51

1977

This high-end model was only produced for one year in 1977, in Japan by Seisakusho in Aichi, Japan. It was a subsidiary of the famous Hoshino Gakki which owned Ibanez. This model is the best we can hope for on a Dreadnaught. The sound is well balanced with a strong projection and a beautiful clarity which frankly has nothing to envy of the Martins. The top is made of spruce, the back and sides as well as the headstock are made of rosewood. The fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony. The sunburst is very close to what was being done at Martin at the time. Truly a remarkable guitar both for its playing comfort and its acoustic qualities. It’s unbeatable value for money and it has its place here alongside beautiful american made guitars. It comes with its original hard case and papers.
