Roland RE-201

1980

Here is a very fine example of the famous Roland RE-201 Space Echo, made in Japan.

A benchmark in tape effects, the RE-201 combines analog tape echo with spring reverb. It delivers that distinctive warm, organic sound, with repeats that gradually degrade and subtle modulation caused by the movement of the tape. The various selector positions allow different combinations of playback heads and reverb, providing a wide range of effects. It has become a staple in countless recording studios.

This example is in very well-preserved condition, retaining its original black covering and presenting particularly well for its age. It works very well, with all controls and effects fully operational.

It comes with several accessories, including its Roland cover, maintenance kit and a Roland RT-1 replacement tape. This is a European version that runs directly on 220 V mains power, with no additional transformer required.
