Hofner Congress

1960

This is an instrument that punches above its weight.

First, because of the tonewoods—just look at the back—but also because of its sound and playability. It has a very nice jazz tone and plays really well, with low action and an ideal neck angle. I’m not saying it’s as good as an L5, but for the price it’s really impressive.

It’s very clean and ready to play.
