Martin D-35

1973

Warning: absolute cannon!

A lot of great Martins come through the shop, and every once in a while one appears out of nowhere and leaves everyone speechless. This D-35 is one of those guitars. The sound is simply breathtaking. Rich, beautifully balanced, incredibly articulate, it has everything you could hope for from a vintage Martin.

It is in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs, and has benefited from a perfectly executed neck reset. The action measures just 2.7 mm on the low E string and 1.6 mm on the high E string at the 12th fret. The result is exceptional playability without sacrificing any power, projection or sustain. It is genuinely rare to find a Martin from this period that plays this well.

The original pickguard has been replaced, as those fitted by Martin during the 1970s were well known for shrinking and curling over time. The current tortoise-style guard looks elegant and suits the guitar perfectly.

It comes with a fitted hard shell case.

If you’re looking for a Martin that truly delivers, with a neck that plays effortlessly, or as we like to say over here, like butter, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better one.
