Martin 00-17

1933

One of the very last Martins from 1933, this is certainly one of the earliest 14-fret 00-17 models. Its serial number is 55008, while the final instrument produced in 1933 bears the number 55084.

This instrument is an absolute workhorse, with notes that ring instantly and strong acoustic projection. It is highly responsive, warm, and well-balanced—exactly what you would expect from a pre-war Martin. It has that distinctive dry sound typical of the finest Martins, giving it a sense of solidity and an inimitable vintage tone.

Overall, it is in very nice condition and retains its original bridge. A new compensated saddle has just been installed for improved intonation. A crack on the lower side has been stabilized from the inside. The tuners are modern Waverly machines. The guitar previously underwent a neck reset, and the action is excellent, measuring 1.8 mm on the high E and 2.9 mm on the low E.

It comes with an old, non-original case.
