Gretsch Model 40

Originally designed as a Hawaiian guitar, this early 50s Grestch was converted for the Spanish style. This is a practice that is very often found on the H models at Martin and Gibson as well, the public being quite limited for Hawaiian and the qualities of these guitars being undeniable, the temptation is great, and it is easy to go back if ever one wanted to put it back in lap. This rather rare model, number 40, has an interesting voice, it gives off a feeling of great depth. It is balanced and well defined. The guitar has little neck angle because it is a converted Hawaiian but it plays well and the action is low. Please note that the heel has been repaired long time ago and is very stable. Supplied in a modern hardshell case.
