Gibson Les Paul Junior Cherry

1961

Ultra-light model weighing only 2.5 kg, offering exceptional ergonomics and unrivaled access to the upper frets. This is one of the last models featuring the Les Paul script on the headstock combined with the SG body shape. Both the body and neck are made from Honduran mahogany. There isn’t much wood, but its quality makes all the difference. The fingerboard is Brazilian rosewood. The compensated wraparound bridge allows for more accurate setup compared to earlier versions that used a non-compensated bridge mounted diagonally. The electronics are original and unmodified. The P-90 pickup has a punchy, dynamic, almost aggressive character. The guitar is extremely responsive—perfect for rock, blues, and any expressive playing style. The nut width is 42.8 mm. This is neither a blade neck nor a slim taper: the neck thickness measures 21.6 mm at the 1st fret and 23.6 mm at the 12th fret so there’s real substance to it. The action is excellent, with 1.8 mm on the low E string and 1.7 mm on the high E string. The frets are also in very good condition, with a height between 0.10 and 0.11 inches. It comes with its original goodies and its original faux-crocodile case. Of course, it has been fully set up and is ready to play.
