Gibson Firebird I Polaris White refin

1964

This guitar is a great opportunity to own a true vintage instrument that plays beautifully and sounds incredible, but at a fraction of the cost of an all-original example—roughly what you’d pay for a reissue. It has been re-finished in period-correct Polaris White; the serial number was sanded off, though it remains marked on the underside of the original pickguard. It features a professional refret with medium-large Jescar wire and the headstock overlay has been restored to original specifications after the previous refinish removed too much material. Original pickup had work done to it, it sounds absolutely great. There’s also a Seymour Duncan in the case if you want to try. The original tuners are back on after a period with lightweight Steinbergers, the pots are Dimarzios, and the tone cap has been upgraded to a high-quality Mallory 150. A Mojo-Axe replacement bridge provides proper intonation for an unwound G string, which makes a noticeable difference, and the guitar comes in a brand-new Gibson Firebird hard case with excellent protective design. Overall, it plays effortlessly up the neck and sounds fantastic both clean and overdriven.
