Silvertone Stratotone Newport

1955

One of the first neck-through guitar models. This guitar made in Chicago has a wide and thick neck in total contrast to the body which is very thin. The guitar weighs only 2.1kg and sounds so good. Original Dearmond pickup. The original concentric knob was removed because the 50k resistance on the tone made the sound much duller. It is supplied in the case should you wish to reinstall it. The guitar is easy to play all the way up and down the neck, even with this width it remains very comfortable because the action is very low and the profile is pleasant. The green metallic paint is in good condition overall although there are a few nicks here and there and the back of the neckis a little worn. The metal binding with its rubber stripe is the final touch to this retro look. Modern case.
