Hilo 625

1920s

This restoration project led by Florian Chateau is once again amazing work. Florian refinished the instrument and gave it a new bridge and nut. The sound is ricjh in harmonics with along sustain, which is typical of this kind of guitar. While less complex and articluate than a weissenborn it has its own voice, I’d say deeper and with raw power and attack. It’s a different tone. The neck is entirely hollow and gives it this very particular, almost cavernous tone. The general condition is good with a stabilized crack on the back. A pleasure to slide on this instrument.
