Gibson ES-775

1990

A high-end model that had a fairly short lifespan, made from 1990 to 1993 only, the ES-775 is a refined version of the ES175 with some notable differences. The neck pickup is placed a little closer to the neck than usual, for a slightly mellower sound. The pickups are original patent numbers. No modification of the electronics. Ebony fingerboard with custom Howard Roberts type markings. The adjustable bridge with mother-of-pearl inlay has a tune-o-matic for a better intonation, which is very precise, the guitar is sharp all the way up. Golden tailpiece with rosewood plate. Ebony volume and tone knobs. No pickguard. The action is low and comfortable. Original frets have plenty of life left. Note a small touch-up next to the pickup selector and a repaired splint in the cutaway, stopped inside. That’s all.  Non original hard case.
