Gibson Dove Custom

1973

At the very top of the Gibson range, the Dove is a guitar that has largely contributed to the brand’s legend. Endorsed by Elvis, Duane Allman, and even Tom Petty, the Dove is an essential classic, yet finding a vintage one is far from easy. This particular model had already been here about ten years ago. It hasn’t moved and just needed a little cleaning and a steup. Its condition is very good. No cracks or repairs. Note that the nitrogen escaping from the pickguard has given it this somewhat bleached appearance, I’m sure you’re familiar with this phenomenon if you read these pages regularly. The neck angle is good, the frets are of a good level, and the guitar sounds very good, obviously. A very wide and quite bright folk sound, ample with beautiful harmonics. Everything you would expect from one of the symbols of American guitar making. An icon of a generation that, like so many others, dreamed of peace.

Comes with its original hard case.
