Fender Jazzmaster

1959

SOLD

Jazzmasters are great guitars, I see a lot of them here because I love them. Mainly models from 62 to 66. This is only the third Jazzmaster from 1959 that I am able to offer you in ten years or so. The last one was sold out in the blink of an eye last year and the last one which was refinished dates back to 2013… They are hard to find and for good reason the quantities are minimal.

This splendid, completely original instrument is in perfect playing condition. Supplied with original strap and cable. The neck is exceptionally smooth. I won’t use too many superlatives here, but there is a huge gap between a 1959 Jazzmaster and a 1962 slab, even more so with an, however excellent, 1964 L-series for example. If you’ve got your experience with 50s Stratocaster and know the 60s, tell yourself that the gap is at least as big. Soundwise and playingwise. The vibrato is very flexible. The neck profile seems so obvious. The pickups are superhot. All the parts are original, even the birdge cover is there. The original anodized guard bears little mark. Overall the instrument has very few marks as you can see. It’s a pure beauty. And I haven’t told you about the bird’s eye maple neck yet, but the grain is incredible and the feel so pleasant. The original varnish is well preserved, this is a guitar that has been obviously well stored and played with care. The fingerboard and the original frets are in excellent condition. The truss rod works well. The action is low and the guitar is probably one of the easiest in the store. The solders are intact and it has not undergone any intervention of any kind. She ticks all the boxes. I don’t want her to leave. Original tweed hard case.
