National Mandolin German Silver

1930

Rare National mandolin from the late 1920s to early 1930s. It features the distinctive pointed headstock found on most German Silver National mandolins of the period. The original coverplate and tailpiece, with their characteristic half-circle design, are also typical of these early models.

The instrument is in very good overall condition. The metal shows some natural dulling and scattered wear marks, but there are no cracks. The internal supports, neck stick, and cone have been replaced more recently to ensure optimal playability.

This mandolin sounds absolutely fantastic: powerful, responsive, and full of character, with great harmonic complexity and beautiful overtones. Both the body and the coverplate are made from German Silver.

There is probably no need to explain much more to the connoisseurs among you. If you know, you know.
