Kevin Ryan Nightingale Grand Soloist Bearclaw Sitka Tasmanian Blackwood
2020
The Kevin Ryan Grand Soloist once again exemplifies the excellence of his craftsmanship, featuring Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides and a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top of exceptional quality. Tasmanian Blackwood is visually similar to Hawaiian Koa and shares comparable tonal characteristics. The sound is rich, clear, and balanced, with warm mids and beautiful articulation. Each note rings with clarity and definition. It’s a truly remarkable piece of work, executed with almost unbelievable precision. This guitar is nothing short of a work of art.
Among its signature features: the ergonomic bevel with flutes, Florentine cutaway, titanium bridge pins, laser-cut bracing, and the Acoustic Honeycomb bridge plate, all contributing to enhanced tone and reduced weight. The micro-adjustable truss rod, Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, and the Blue Paua shell inlays complete this exceptional instrument. Even the kerfing—so often overlooked—is stunning. A detail that might seem minor on many guitars has clearly been reimagined here and executed with extraordinary care. In fact, the entire instrument reflects this level of meticulous attention.
A remarkable guitar, both sonically and visually, delivered in a premium Calton case with a plush red interior.
