Gibson ES-355 TD

1967

This 355 was the top-of-the-range version of the 300 series, after the 335 and the 345. When 3122 ES-335 cherry and 2596 ES-335 sunburst were produced in 1967 only 198 of the 355 TDSV were produced that year. So this is rather rare guitar. This one is very well preserved and without repairs. Note the change of the strap button and that the Varitone selector has been switched to mono. The neck is perfectly straight and the guitar is very playable. The nut is 40mm wide. The ebony fingerboard is in very good condition and the original frets are still in great shape. Original ABR-1 bridge and lyre tailpiece. 2 patent number pickups intact and never opened. Pretty versatile, this guitar has a one-piece mahogany neck, a long tenon which extends under the cavity of the neck pickup. A detail that is important as you know, since it has a significant impact on the sound and was unfortunately abandoned in 1970. Travels in a hard case.
