Fender Telecaster Sunburst

1964

Very rare Fender Telecaster L series in original sunburst finish.

Finding one of these is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Fender was very focused on the Stratocaster in 1964. There are a few blonde Telecasters at that time but a sunburst is really very hard to find. This one has been played but it is well preserved overall. The finish has kept all its colors and is very bright. It has not been refinished. All the electronics are original. The knobs have identical codes dating from the 22nd week of 1964, and the soldering has not been touched. It sounds very good, the 2 pickups are original and have not been rewound. The guitar had at one point in its life a pick holder on the front. This left a mark, the small screw hole has been filled and the area polished. The neck is dated December 1962, it is quite common to have parts older than a year at Fender at the time. Nice chunky B neck. The guitar is easy to play and has just been set up. It comes in its original hard case.
