Fender Telecaster
1959
This is what I’m looking for all year round, every day. This Tele is fantastic. It’s been blackguarded by Nacho Banos, the man behind the Nachocaster series and, of course, the definitive reference book on blackguards. I exchanged a few emails with him recently; besides being a gentleman, Nacho is the world’s leading expert on Telecasters. He was able to confirm that he had indeed sold this Telecaster back in the days of his Texmex store in Valencia and that it is indeed a refinished 1959. The pickups are original, and the entire instrument has been refinished. So, there’s a new logo. The plate has been changed to a black one, of course, with a little word on the inside… The tuners are a collection of several vintage sets. The bridge is original, as are the control plate and its dome knobs. The tone capacitor is still there. This is a player’s instrument not to be missed; this type of instrument is extremely hard to find. Supplied in a tweed case bearing the logo of Nacho’s band, Tres Hombres.
