Fender Jazzmaster Sunburst

1963

On hold

This one is for the players. This Jazzmaster has a fantastic neck. It is a 63 L series with clay dots, original frets, and original electronics. Set up with 11-49. Super stable even using the vibrato. It sounds great and plays like butter. Now if it is worth half the price of a 63 in perfect condition it is for 2 reasons:

1) The neck was mounted on another guitar and part of the heel was cut to fit as you will see in the pictures. Someone loved this neck and wanted to put it on another instrument. I can understand, it is so easy to play and it was adifferent time we did not think about the collector’s value. That being said, the guitar is very stable once again and the neck does not move at all. The neck pockets of this era are well adjusted and there is no movement in any direction.

2) the guitar has received an overspray, the original finish is still present but it has been oversprayed as can be seen on the shielding.

For the rest the guitar is original. The pickups are original and have not been rewound. The pots have codes from the 36th week of 1963. The cable that goes from the volume to the jack has been replaced by a shielded cable. The guitar is silent and all the electronics work very well. The tuners are original but others were installed at some point before being removed and the originals put back. The 2 plastics knobs are non-original but the tremolo arm and the tip are the original ones. These modifications if they will bother the collector will make a player happy because I can tell you that you will not find a custom shop that can compete with this instrument anytime soon.

In G&G brown case.
