Fender Jazzmaster Olympic White Refin

1965

It’s difficult to find an affordable original Jazzmaster today.

This is a transition model with mother-of-pearl dots and binding on the fingerboard edge. We briefly find them at the end of 1965, just after the L series and just before the neck was inlaid with mother-of-pearl blocks. The neck was stamped in October 1965 and all of the electronics are dated the same year. This is a guitar that was refinished a few decades ago. I would say a good twenty years, maybe a little more. This is beautiful work, done by someone who knew what he was doing. He notably thought of masking the exposed part in the cavity before repainting (thanks to him or her). The pickups are original and have not been rewound. It is perfectly playable. It sounds very good and the electronics work perfectly, even the sliding button of the “jazz” circuit, which is so often problematic. The instrument offers an experience comparable to an non refin instrument at a much lower price and for the same price as a custom shop Journey Man… In original hard case.
