Greco tackled the problem head-on and applied the same basic concept as Gibson did with the J-160E: a magnetic lipstick-style pickup positioned at the end of the fingerboard, a type of pickup particularly well suited to and appreciated by slide players. Two controls: volume and tone. The result is quite remarkable.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to have many very good resonator guitars pass through my hands, and this one clearly ranks among them. The maple neck gives it a particularly solid and sturdy feel, while at the same time making it one of the most playable resonators I have come across. This level of playing comfort is quite rare on this type of instrument.

It is perfectly suited to both bottleneck slide and fingerstyle playing.

Overall, the instrument is in good condition. It has been played and shows some light superficial marks, but nothing serious.

This is the first time I have had one of these to offer. It is a fairly rare model. Greco is, at least here in Europe, much better known for its Les Paul and Stratocaster copies, but they clearly succeeded in creating something both original and genuinely high quality here.

There are very few truly satisfying solutions when it comes to amplifying a resonator guitar.
