This is an original configuration found only in the mid-1950s, from 1954 to 1956.<\/p>\n<p>The neck pickup was designed to deliver high-fidelity clarity, being less aggressive and less prone to distortion than a P90. It was naturally discontinued from the lineup when the humbucker made its appearance. This version of the Les Paul Custom was only briefly reproduced again in 1972 and 1973.<\/p>\n<p>This instrument is faithful to the original; the only noticeable difference is the addition of a volute on the neck, but otherwise the construction is very close, with a non-pancake body and a one-piece mahogany neck. The guitar weighs only 4 kg, which is clearly felt both in the sound and in the playing comfort. You don\u2019t wear it like a cross, and a 4 kg Les Paul really vibrates\u2014this one is especially playable and resonant.<\/p>\n<p>It is in excellent overall condition, with all original parts and no repairs.
