So, of course, this is a well played instrument, and it has been maintained in optimal playing condition over the decades.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">But remember, when it left the Martin workshop in Nazareth, World War II wasn&#8217;t over.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">That was over 80 years ago.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">At the time, the Martin factory employed only about twenty workers in production&#8230;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"> This guitar has had its bridge and backplate replaced, as well as a neck reset, and the neck angle is still good; it&#8217;s even very playable.<\/span><\/span> Of course it has <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">undergone a few repairs, including two plugs behind the bridge, and a general overspray.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The comfortable neck has been refretted and remains easy to play.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The tuners work well and hold tune well.<\/span><\/span> It has <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">rich, balanced sound, typical of prewar Martins: warm, precise, with excellent projection<\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">A guitar full of character, intended for a musician who seeks soul more than cosmetic perfection.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In its original hardshell case.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SOLD This 1942 Martin 000-18 is a fine example of a vintage instrument whose charm remains intact despite the marks of time.
