Wandr\u00e8 was more than a luthier, the life of this Italian artist was the subject of an exceptional work that I invite you to read, Wandr\u00e8, the artist of electric guitars<\/em> by Marco Ballestri.<\/span><\/span> We discover the incredible journey of this man who made his life an artwork.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Each element of the guitar was completely redesigned to offer instruments with totally innovative concepts.<\/span><\/span> We therefore find on this instrument an aluminum neck, with an original and very simple tilt system.<\/span><\/span> An aluminum nut screwed onto the end of the fingerboard, original-shaped sound holes covered with a plastic molding, a pickguard with integrated pickup.<\/span><\/span> The small logo on the bottom of the headstock typical of the 1961-62 period.<\/span><\/span> A tailpiece with an elegant design that finishes the line of this instrument in the most beautiful way.<\/span><\/span> The original white color has turned somewhat to ivory over time, as with Fender’s Olympic White, there’s no getting around it.<\/span><\/span> What immediately caught my attention about this guitar was its exceptional playability.<\/span><\/span> Wandr\u00e8s are guitars that often require a complete restoration these days, but that’s absolutely not the case here.<\/span><\/span> This one is perfectly playable, the frets are of a very good level, it is precise and very pleasant to play, the lightness of the instrument also contributes to this, since it only weighs 2.1 kg.<\/span><\/span> See the remarkable condition of the fingerboard, the frets are in remarkable condition.<\/span><\/span> Note that the tuners buttons were replaced a long time ago.<\/span><\/span> I admit that I don’t remember coming across a Wandr\u00e8 that was so playable in the past.<\/span><\/span> This one will satisfy the most demanding.<\/span><\/span> We can consider that the instrument is in very good condition.<\/span><\/span> There seems to be a very small repair on the junction between the side and the top nearby the sound hole on the bass side on the inside, invisible on the outside.<\/span><\/span> Minor and very well executed.<\/span><\/span> The jack has been changed for a modern piece for more comfort, the original is present in the modern hard case that accompanies it.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Small detail, we find on the back of the headstock a period sticker referring to the Wandr\u00e8 factory, Dalla fabrica pi\u00f9 moderna<\/em>, the circular factory, quite a story too…<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
